Multi-Distro Nodegroups VNfs support

I would like to create several node groups with different distros for my own reasons. So this makes the scenario different from the "Multiple Node groups and VNFS Images" that has been outlined here: http://www.warewulf-cluster.org/cgi-bin/trac.cgi/wiki/CustomNodes. Does anyone know how well this would be supported, and if there is a procedure in place for this.
